Jaden and his co-stars are just getting started in their acting careers.
But their budding friendship was already beginning when Jaden was just 15 years old.
“Jaden is one of the most genuine, sweet, funny people I’ve ever known,” co-showrunner Jenji Kohan said.
“And I just felt like I was always going to get a chance to work with him because he’s just so genuine and he’s such a funny person.”
And Jaden has had a huge impact on Jaden himself.
He has become a key figure in Jaden.com, where fans can share stories of their friends, including a story of Jaden giving his own daughter a new nickname after she accidentally used a pronoun that Jaden didn’t recognize.
“That was Jaden smithers birthday, I just wanted to share that,” Kohan told CBS News.
“It was a little moment of him being like, ‘I know how much you’ve been supporting me and being a big part of my life and I just want to share it.'”
The story of the nicknames Jaden gives his daughter was shared on the site as well as on social media, where Jaden is credited with helping raise the awareness of gender equality.
The “Jaded” series also featured the two of them, which has led to Jaden sharing his favorite character.
“I’m so proud of my son and I’m so excited to share this story because Jaden will never stop helping me,” Jaden said.
