The new season premieres Sunday night on CBS, and the cast, producers and fans are still debating whether J.D. has made a full recovery from her battle with cancer.
Jade Jantz has a long history of wearing a black trench coat to social events and events like the Oscars, but this season she’s sporting a custom-made, gold and platinum wig made of a gold chain and gold-colored tulle.
She’s also getting a little more of a fashion edge.
“It’s definitely fun to be a little bit more glamorous this season,” Jantzens mother, Rose Jantzer, told ABC News in a recent interview.
“I like to be in a good mood, which is more fun and more comfortable, than being in a bad mood,” Jotz added.
“There’s a lot of fun things I can do, so it’s fun to try something new and get something new.”
Jantzen has been a big fan of the new Star Trek franchise since the original series first aired in 1993.
Her character, the female captain of the USS Enterprise, is one of the main characters on the show.
“When I was young I was a fan, so I’m very excited,” Jontzen said.
“I’m excited to see what’s happening on Star Trek next year.”
Jontzen was also the first woman to be nominated for an Emmy for her role in “Star Trek: First Contact.”
Her nomination was for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Jontzens daughter, Rose, has also been in the news recently.
Her husband, Adam Jontz, had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and had been undergoing chemotherapy.
The couple has a son, Jaden, and have been raising the child.
“Jaden was diagnosed with cancer this past March and the couple has been going through a very difficult time and they’re really happy to have him back with us,” Jatzer said.
“They’re really excited about what’s going on and what Jaden can do in the future.”
Jatar, who plays Sulu, is the son of an ancient Vulcan named Kor.
Jatar was adopted by the crew of the Enterprise, where he grew up in an orphanage.
He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2017 with a degree in physics.
Jatar’s first Star Trek role was as the male captain of an Enterprise in “The Naked Time,” in which he played a scientist who was investigating the mysterious alien vessel.
He appeared in the reboot of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and was briefly cast as an alien warrior in “Legacy.”
